Our Ethos

Sustainability is such a key word nowadays and in a country like Costa Rica tagged as one of the greenest on the planet and with its aim to be carbon neutral by 2021 we need to play our part. One of the most important elements is employment and we are proud to say our staff is Costa Rican. We are a very close knit team and in employing one person feel we are encompassing their family. Our Camps Manager, Martin spends much of his time working on both camps improving and maintaining these idyllic environments with the assistance of his wife and son at El Nido del Tigre and Francisco’s family at Finca Pacuarito. A ton of expertise is required to maintain and preserve the rainforest environment and so having a local like Martin who is born and bred in the immediate area, is a true asset.

Our program of community service projects has improved many schools and communities throughout Costa Rica and on the San Blas islands of Panama.

The natural landscapes we explore are some of the richest, often most challenging, yet at the same time some of the most fragile environments on earth. With education, experienced leadership and appropriate equipment and techniques, it is possible to travel responsibly through these regions. For us, it is critically important that such wilderness travel experiences do not diminish the natural values of the environment. We tread carefully, respect the local people and aim to leave a positive impact.
